This is an elegant, large antique stained glass transom window that was salvaged from a home in the Finger Lakes of western New York, made circa 1880. This large window has cracks throughout, and one hole. Please see the photos for full details.

Slag glass, also known as marble glass or malachite glass, is a type of opaque, streaked pressed glass. Production of slag glass originated in late-19th-century England, where glass manufacturers are thought to have added slag from iron-smelting works to molten glass to create a range of effects—from tortoiseshell to marbling. The variations in color and depth that slag glass provides make this style of glass ideal for windows and lamps, providing privacy in windows yet allowing light into rooms.
