Capture the beauty of authentic, traditional cement tiles with the SomerTile Cemento Queen Mary Storm 8"x 8" Cement Floor and Wall Tile. These tiles are constructed of cement, offering a partial through-body coloring. Each tile is hand-crafted by taking a 1" cement base, pouring color into a mold, pressing the color with a hydraulic press and baking at extremely high temperatures. The result is a completely one of a kind look that may produce natural variations or chips, which are characteristics of true cement tile. The tile offers an old-world pattern in monochromatic grays including dark charcoal, smoky gray, ash gray, light pale gray and white. These durable tiles can be used in a variety of interior settings. Be sure to pair these with other tiles in the coordinating Cemento series for a unique look. It is necessary that you seal your cement tiles.

The kitchen at the house we purchased in early 2018 was small, dark, and straight out of the 80’s. With three doorways like most old kitchens. Plenty of cabinet space, a large closet filled with dirty glassware and pickles canned in 1997. Virtually no counter space, and ancient appliances. The last renovation, actually in the 1990’s, removed the original doors and windows and added some Pellas and covered up some old yellow plaid wallpaper from the 1950’s or 60’s. The solid surface sink and white faucet were ready to be retired and the dishwasher was actually being used as extra storage. The vinyl floor tiles were worn to the point that the pattern was no longer visible. You see where this is going. Here are some photos of the before:
