Antique Mortise Lock Resources

Beta V.1.3

We've got hundreds of antique mortise locks in our inventory. We also salvage parts out of broken locks (against our better judgment). While we are not locksmiths, we do offer these parts to you in hopes you can use them to fix your own locks. To that end, we've created this resource page of diagrams of the interiors of many antique locks from different manufacturers. You can use these to see where broken springs are positioned, or to identify missing parts. Please note: the diagrams shown are all we have at this time, but we'll add to this as we find more diagrams, we promise. Our knowledgeable and helpful staff is not able to provide any additional diagrams, or search our inventory for more parts not already shown on our website at this time. We will continue to add more parts though, so check back if you don't see what you need.

Our goal is to get our parts organized by manufacturer to more easily assist you. However, we are not there yet!

To use these resources: remove your non-functioning lock from your door. Check out our blog about antique door hardware if you need help figuring out how to do this. Check your lock for a maker's mark, we have a table of them below to help you identify the maker. Some of the manufacturers had multiple logos, especially the ones who were in business for many years such as Corbin. We'll continue to update this with more examples of these logos as we find them. Go to the list of available cut-away diagrams in the "Diagrams Available" column to look through them to see the years and locks we have available. Please note, this is all we have at this time but we will continue to add more as we find them.

Click here to see what BACKSET and SPACING are, these are the key measurements you (and we) need to identify and understand in order to replace a missing or broken mortise lock. Don't have a lock? Use the holes on your door to determine these measurements.
