This is a a rare find, a gorgeous full set of 4-1/2" x 4-1/2" gloss glazed fireplace tile by the J. & J.G. Low Art Tile Company of Chelsea, Mass. We salvaged this tile from an 1880 house in the Finger Lakes area of New York state. The tiles features an Aesthetic Movement pattern of two daisies with leaves surrounding them, glazed in a beautiful deep blue color with a touch of green in it. There are chips and fleabites to many of the pieces but overall this set is in very good condition with the exception of one tile which had a clean break and we have since repaired. See the photos for details of this piece.

J. & J. G. Low Art Tile Works, also known as J. & J. F. Low Art Tile Works or Low Art Tile Works, was an American manufacturer of decorative ceramic tiles, active from 1877-1902 in Chelsea, Massachusetts. The company was founded by John Low and his son, John Gardner Low. The name later changed when J. F. Low, son of John Gardner Low, replaced his retired grandfather. In the 1880s, the company won awards in the United States and Europe for its high relief decorative art tiles, which adorned candlesticks, cast-iron stoves, clocks, fireplace surrounds, soda fountains, trivets, and walls.
