This is an antique Monowatt Electric Corporation doorbell "for use with battery or transformer". When and by whom Monowatt has been founded is unknown. In 1929 General Electric bought the wiring division. Most American homes had yet to be wired for electricity, so doorbells were marketed in outfits with batteries and wire. The box is missing each end piece and has heavy ware. Only one available, the electrical component is untested the item is sold as is.
