Closet Spindle with Thumbturn. Use (inside closets) in a tubular latch, with a single threaded knob on other end. 20 threads per inch, 7mm (3/8") spindle, 2-1/2" long. Available in several finishes and in also in a 3" length. Solid brass thumbturn with steel spindle.

My new porcelain knob (from an online rejuvenating store) screwed on perfectly and I'm saving my old Bennington knob set for a more prominent location.
