This is an antique cast iron and brass spring-loaded cabinet latch and keeper in the "Windsor" design made by Reading Hardware Co. and shown in their 1885 and later catalogs. Easy to install, this cabinet latch is surface mounted (screwed to the face of the door), no screws included. They are primarily used on cabinet doors, however they are also used on furniture doors, pantry doors, or any door or window where a surface mounted latch is required.
