A late 19th century stamped steel interior door plate with heavy loss of its brass plating. This plate features styles of Art Nouveau which were popular between the years 1890 to 1910. This style was inspired from natural forms such as plants and flowers, which can be noted in the patterns towards the top and the bottom of the plate. Overall measurement of this plate is 7-3/4" high x 2-3/8" wide, the receiver is 5/8" diameter and the spacing between the center of the doorknob hole and the center of the round part of the keyhole is 2-1/4".
This antique item is in okay condition with no major flaws except for a slight bend at the bottom of the plate. The original finish is aged, with scuffs and scratches which are normal for a piece this age.
