A pair of mahogany and quarter sawn oak pocket doors. Quarter sawn boards have two advantages: they are more resistant against warping with changes in moisture and, while shrinkage can occur, it is less troublesome. The four panel side features a raised panel design. A bookmatching technique has been used on the two panel side meaning the two adjoining surfaces are produced from the same piece of wood, so that they have (almost) exactly the same appearance, but mirrored. There is a small section of missing veneer on the two panel side in the upper corner, please see photo.
