Product Image Gallery:
This is an antique Pexto interior mortise lock. An interior mortise lock is a lock which is used on an interior door that has been cut with a pocket or hole into which the lock is to be fitted. Interior mortise locks commonly include a doorknob hub, through which a doorknob spindle is installed and doorknobs are mounted on each side and secured into place with pins or set screws; and a keyhole which accommodates an old-fashioned bit or skeleton key which in turn throws the deadbolt to lock and unlock the door. mortise locks have specific dimensions including backset, the measurement from the edge of the faceplate (the strip that shows when the mortise lock is installed in the door) to the center of the doorknob hub; and spacing, the measurement from the center of the doorknob hub to the center of the round part of the keyhole. The dimensions were not standardized in the 19th century so it is important to note the dimensions of your door prior to purchasing a mortise lock. Please find the item size in the Dimensions tab to the right.

Perfect addition to any home

I got this piece to go along with our turn that we also purchased and this is absolutely beautiful. Easy install and a wonderful, historically accurate addition to my home.

Great find

Most catalogs & stores sell wood knobs of cherry, oak, maple, & sometimes pine. Solid, unfinished walnut is hard to find. Historic Houseparts sells these. They are well made, no defects, & come with screws. Company service is excellent, delivery prompt, exactly as advertised. Highly recommended.

Great item!

Perfect piece for the icebox I refinished that came out of my childhood home! Made the icebox look like it did when it came out of the factory.

Wow factor

We bought an Art Deco vanity table, that had ordinary round brown wooden knobs. We replaced those knobs with these Bakelite knobs. The look now catches our eyes and has upped the Wow factor of the piece in our bedroom.

Glass Door Knob/Door Plate

Fantastic service, very easy to shop for antique and historic parts (sizes are viewable with the pictures!). Screws came with the door plate and made installation very easy. We are very glad these folks are in business. I will look for more historic parts for our 90+ year old house.

Stunningly beautiful

Extremely pleased. We needed a narrow piece on the receptor side because of modern doubled glazed windows, and this fit the bill perfectly. Had to search a long time to find this piece and so glad I found it here, at last. Looks absolutely gorgeous and original in our Edwardian home. Highly recommend! Quality and function is outstanding. Had questions about the item and got prompt and thorough response; great customer service. Would gladly order again.

Good Product

Our brand new porcelain sink developed cracks almost immediately after install. The cracks then flaked off until we were left with deep, wide cracks. We needed a filler as part of the repair. This was a Godsend! It went on perfectly. We had to do several applications to fill in the damage, but it was worth it. Highly recommend if you need to fill.

Great, affordable

I was having trouble sourcing lifts that were good quality, and matched with all of the other hardware in the kitchen. These fit the bill, and were less than half what I have seen elsewhere. They are solid, nicely weighted. Worth knowing that they are cast rather than stamped, so holes can be slightly different from one to another -- means that you have to be careful with measuring and leveling. But the upside is a truly historic and great-looking lift.
