The South Wedge Soap Company has created a product that contains no animal derivatives, no synthetic substances and no petrochemicals. The oils and botanical flora employed have all been traditionally used for skin care by indigenous cultures worldwide. The whole herbs used are first obtained from pesticide free plants locally grown in the urban South Wedge district of Rochester, New York, a prized horticultural area for the last 100 years. Remaining plant materials are from certified organic or naturally cultivated sustainable sources, not robbed from the wild. The base oils are saponified by an ancient energy efficient cold process which retains the natural glycerin yielding a milder softer soap than commercial hot process bars. The biodegradable packaging is made only from recycled paper, clear cellulose film and staples.
