This is an antique single sliding or pocket door roller. A bottom sliding door system consists of one or two rollers at the bottom of the door running on a track on the floor and two guides at the top running in a guide channel. Sliding doors were common as early as the 1850s by the 1880s there were several patented top-hung hardware systems on the market . The roller is marked 2-1/2 inch corresponding to the wheel diameter and 36 inch run for the track length. There is a break as shown in the photos however it is still fully functional.

Item dimensions are: 8-5/8" long , 1-3/16" wide, 2-5/8" high.
Good condition: showing minor signs of wear to finish but no excessive damage to the structure. There is a break as shown in the photos.
