Antique Richards Wilcox pocket door hanger. There is a patent date of May 24 1881 embossed on the hanger. Pocket doors were common as early as the 1850s, most of them used sheaves or rollers that were in the bottom of the door and ran on a track on the floor by the 1880s there were several patented top-hung hardware systems on the market such as the Richards Wilcox hanger. The frame is broken where the adjust screw would be, this pieces is good for parts, arts & crafts projects, etc.
