A pair of quarter sawn Oak pocket door. Quarter sawn boards have two advantages: they are more resistant against warping with changes in moisture and, while shrinkage can occur, it is less troublesome. This pair of pocket doors has 18 panes of beveled glass on each door for 36 total! A rare find! They were converted into swinging doors at some point and the meeting rail in the center is not original to the doors. There is a slide bolt on one of the doors also.
