This is an antique American Sheet & Tin Plate Co., steel, and ceramic gas fireplace insert. This piece is in good condition with very nice patina and some rust with cracks in the ceramic. This item has not been tested nor do we guarantee if it is in working order. 

The earliest roots of the company trace back to November 1903 when the American Tin Plate Company and the American Sheet Steel company merged. By the time of the merge a total of seventy one plants were included in the consolidation of the companies.
