This is a circa 1920 Schoolhouse style opal glass and steel pendant light fixture with a tassel extending off the bottom of the glass shade. This is an elegantly styled shade in excellent condition, mounted on a steel fixture with an antique bronze original finish. This fixture has an atypical shade mounting mechanism that is gravity based. The fixture neck is dropped down while holding onto the glass shade, this reveals the locking mechanism. Once the weight of the shade is resting on the fixture, gravity holds the fixture locked into place, precluding the need for set screws. These fixtures are ideal for use in restaurants, commercial spaces, kitchens, bathrooms, hallways, parlors, and foyers to add the perfect period detail to your restoration project. This fixture is rewired and is ready to install.
Dimensions of this fixture are: 16" wide x 38-1/2" drop.
This light fixture is in good condition with no major flaws and the original finish is in excellent condition. It has been rewired using UL-listed sockets and wiring unless otherwise indicated. Maximum wattage if using incandescent light bulbs, please do not exceed 60 watts. If using LED or CFL bulbs you may use a higher wattage. We recommend having this light fixture installed by a licensed electrician to ensure your safety.
