An antique set of six cast iron handrail brackets. The oldest known handrail was uncovered by a French archaeologist in an Assyrian ruin in southern Iraq in the city-state Nippur. The brackets have lost most of their finish as shown in the photo. They are cast iron and would be able to be repainted. No screws included.
Baseplate: 2-1/4" diameter, height 3-1/2". 2" base to rail center.
Good condition: showing signs of wear to finish but no excessive damage to the structure. The brackets will need to be refinished.
