An antique pair of amethyst glass doorknobs with brass necks. An interesting characteristic of colorless glasses which contain manganese dioxide as a decolorizer is their tendency to turn different shades of purple when exposed to the rays of the sun. It is a photochemical phenomenon that is not yet perfectly understood. There are some small flaws and a chip but they do not lessen the appeal of these lovely knobs. $75 per pair. We are able to polish the brass necks for an additional $10,for the polishing. If you would like the pair polished please indicate so in the special instructions portion of your online order.
2" Knob diameter
Good condition: showing minor signs of wear to finish but no excessive damage to the structure.
